About Us

NedStones Corner Community Kindergarten is nestled within Hanlon Park, Greenslopes. The Kindergarten has been educating children for over 50 years, and has strong relationships with the local community and families. Our teachers provide an exciting and encouraging learning environment using the C&K Building Waterfalls curriculum. Our play-based program is tailored for each child, ensuring children grow and learn in readiness for their future schooling – all while having a great time.

Our mission

The Stones Corner Community Kindergarten’s quality teaching educators, together with a participative community of families, provides early childhood education that is child-focused, positive and respectful.

The children learn through play and laughter in our safe, healthy and well-resourced centre.

Acknowledgement of Country

We would like to respectfully acknowledge the traditional custodians, the Jagera and Turrabal people, and their sacred lands on where our Kindergarten stands. We pay our deep respects to the elders of the past, the present and the future, and acknowledge our beautiful Mother Earth as she continues to nurture all who place their footsteps upon her.

Organisation and management

Stones Corner Community Kindergarten is a community based, non-profit organisation, run by a parent management committee. The centre is affiliated with C&K.

The centre is owned by the Association of Stones Corner Community Kindergarten Incorporated.  The members of this organisation are current fee paying families and other financial members.

The centre is managed by a management committee of parents elected from members of the parent body at the Annual General Meeting held in November of the previous year. The committee works in a voluntary capacity to coordinate the centre’s operation and, together with teaching staff, directs the short and long-term goals for the future. Committee participation is vital to the successful management of the kindergarten and is very rewarding.  It gives you an insight into the affairs of the centre.

Currently the parent management committee is made up of the following positions:

•           Workplace Health and Safety / Quality Improvement Representative
